Edna L. Frey

Edna L. Frey, nee Warnecke, 95, of Highland, IL died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 12:05 a.m. at Highland Healthcare Center, Highland, IL.   Edna was born on May 11, 1912 near Pierron, IL in Bond County to Albert and Elizabeth (Sievers) Warnecke and on November 8, 1947 she married Raymond J. Frey in Highland, IL.   Raymond preceded her in death February 15, 1986.

Also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters - Viola Iberg and Leona Foehner; seven brothers - Lester, Elvin, Earl, Lloyd E., Eldo, Duane and Vernon Warnecke.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Edna was a homemaker, loved to sew and quilt and was a wonderful seamstress.   She was a member of the Evangelical UCC in Highland, IL.

Visitation:  Monday, March 24th from 6:00-8:00 pm and Tuesday, March 25th from 8:00 - 10:00 am at the Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Funeral:  Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the Meridith Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Chris Hill, Senior Pastor of Evangelical UCC officiating, with burial in Highland City Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
