Eddie Joe Reid

Eddie Joe Reid, 64, of Olney, Illinois passed away on Friday, August 28. 2026 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.

Joe was born on October 5, 1961 in Fairfield, Illinois, the son of Edward Ellis and Virginia (St. Ledger) Reid.

Joe worked as a fork truck driver for Champion Laboratories for 30 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, watching football, fishing, NASCAR, and watching ghost tv shows. He loved his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his girlfriend LaDana (Dana) Abernathy; children Brandon, Daniel, Chelsea, Rick (Samantha), Teresa (Michael), and Brent (Jessica); 17 grandchildren Deegan, Kambria, Keiton, Haylie, Zoi, Oreawna, Kimberli, Patricia, Emma, Teresa, Isaiah, Payton, Malachi, Declan, Elexis, Aleeah and Kelsey; a sister Bekki (Ed) White; and a brother Larry (Darlene) Reid; and nieces and nephews, Michael, Levi, Stephanie, Robert, Jerrod, Meredith and Jason; and fur babies Gizmo and Gracie, too.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jeannie (Hall) Reid; brothers Donnie Reid and Jerry Reid; and son Ben Wolf.

Visitation for Eddie Joe Reid will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Bone Gap Cemetery in Bone Gap, Illinois.

Casual dress or camo attire would be appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in the name of Eddie Joe Reid can be made to the Citizens National Bank of Olney.
