Earl W. Duncan

Earl W. Duncan, 97, of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Aviston Countryside Manor, Aviston, IL, with his family by his side.

Earl was born May 9, 1919, to Walter and Viola (Nee Vonland) Duncan, in Highland, IL. He was raised by his grandparents, Alonzo and Mattie (Nee Putnam) Duncan. On July 31, 1943, he married Bernice Buller at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Breese, IL.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL and Highland Knights of Columbus, Council 1580.

Earl is survived by his wife of 73 years, Bernice Duncan, Highland, IL; children, Suzanne Baker, Breese, IL, David (Laurie) Duncan, Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Stephen Meissner, Lisa (John) Cosenza, Dina (Jeff) Brother, Christopher (Kim) Meissner, Steven Duncan, Joseph Duncan; great-grandchildren, Zach and Logan Meissner, Aaron and Abbey Cosenza, Alex and Faye Meissner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Duncan, Viola Clark; grandparents, Alonzo and Mattie Duncan; son-in-law, James Baker.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, St. Paul School or Donor’s Choice.

Visitation: Friday, September 9, 2016, from 10:00 to 11:30 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, September 9, 2016, at 11:30 am at St. Paul Catholic Church.

Interment: Private family burial at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Breese, IL later.
