E. “Garry” Lee

E. “Garry” Lee, 81, of Highland, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at his home in Highland, IL.

He was born on January 18, 1943, in Paragould, AR, to Everett V. and Naomi E. (nee Breckenridge) Lee. On November 2, 2013, he married Pat Short (nee Smith) in St. Louis, MO.

Garry has lived in Highland since 2013, moving from Maryland Heights, MO. He attended Mosaic Church in Highland, IL, was a Club Pro Golfer for 20 plus years at Forest Hills Country Club in Chesterfield, MO, and officiated high school basketball games for 25 years. Garry served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and playing poker at the casino. He and Pat were snowbirds, staying in Florida every year from October through May. A loving husband with a good sense of humor, Garry will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett V. and Naomi E. Lee; 1st wife, Glenda Lee; and sister, Sharron.

Garry is survived by his wife of 10 years, Pat Lee, Highland, IL; stepchildren, David (Stephanie) Short, Crestwood, MO, Melissa (Luke) Zobrist, Highland, IL; step grandchildren, Colter Short, Tucker Short, Keira Short, Trent (Maggie) Workman, Claire Zobrist, Chase Zobrist, Emma Zobrist; step great-grandchild, Madelynn Workman; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Mosaic Church in Highland, IL.
