Doris Jean Wilson

Doris J. Wilson, 93, of Greenwood, South Carolina, formerly of Highland, IL, was called to eternal life on Friday, June 8, 2018. She was surrounded by those who loved her when she left this earth for her home in heaven.

She was born Doris Jean Gieser on March 6, 1925, to Fritz and Kay Gieser in Highland Park, IL On August 23, 1952, she married Robert Harmon Wilson.

Doris was a former member and secretary of Highland Community Church. She loved the Lord and shared her faith as a teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Bible Study Leader, and friend throughout her life. Her desire was that people come to know Christ as their Savior. She is a shining example of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her Children, Gary Wilson (Anna), Highland, IL, Jim Wilson (Debbie), Ashland, IL, and Kitty Braaten (Matt), Greenwood, SC; Grandchildren, Catherine Kennedy (Brian), Michael Wilson (Jennifer), Robert Wilson (Sharon), Grace Braaten, and Isaac Braaten; Two Great Grandchildren; Brother, Donald Gieser (Noreen), Tequesta, FL; Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Fritz and Kay Gieser; Husband, Robert Harmon Wilson (Oct 19, 2013); Son, Keith Wilson (Oct 18, 1978).

Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse (Franklin Graham), Highland Community Church, or New Covenant Church, Greenwood, SC.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, Highland Community Church, Highland, IL.

Celebration of Life Service: Wednesday, June 13, 2018, 1:00 pm, Highland Community Church, Highland, IL.

Clergy: Rev. Larry Wise, Retired Pastor.

Interment: Highland City Cemetery.
