Donna Kay Nichols

Donna Kay Nichols 79, of Albion, IL passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 5, 2025 at Oakview Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel, IL.

Donna was born January 18, 1946 to Lloyd and Chlora Hortin.

Donna had two daughters, Deena (Jim) Downs of Albion, IL and Dana (Matt) Pettigrew of Fairfield, IL. Donna was a loving grandmother of three grandchildren Tiffany Carr (Donnie Baker) of Albion, IL, Cody (Katie) Nichols of Greenup, IL, and Shayla (Brent) Sampson of Curryville, MO. Donna was also great grandma to 10 great grandchildren. She was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan, she enjoyed all her time on Earth with all her loved ones. She was also a die-hard fan of George Strait.

Donna is survived by her two daughters; 3 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her sister Sandra Lewis and 2 good friends, Tanya Beitz and Carolyn Nichols.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father; stepmother Dorothy; and her late husband Jerry Nichols.

Donna had wishes that she wanted to be cremated and to have no services. Donations in the name of Donna Nichols can be made to the Edwards County Senior Citizens.

Donna will be deeply missed by all those who knew her, and by her loved ones.
