Donald E. Smith, 69, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Fayette County Hospital.
He was born January 7, 1946, to C. Orville Smith and Helen J. (Nee Conlee) Smith, in Vandalia, IL.
Don worked for several years at Fayette County Hospital and later retired from Old Capitol Monument. His hobbies included: bowling, reading, collecting fossils, and woodworking. He made several violins for family members.
He is survived by siblings: Norma Ramsey, Dale Smith, and Mary Neatherly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Orville and Helen Smith; brother, Denny Smith.
