Dianne E. Kuhn

March 8, 1942 — June 3, 2025

Pocahontas, IL

Dianne E. Kuhn, 83, of Pocahontas, IL, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, Illinois.

She was born on March 8, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, to Antone and Laverna (nee Hutchinson) Cravens. On June 17, 1960, she married James B. Kuhn, in Pocahontas, IL.

Dianne graduated Greenville High School in 1960 and dedicated many years of her professional life to working at the Bauer Fur Company. Later, she continued her career at her sister-in-law's tax service in Highland. She was a member of the Pocahontas United Methodist Church and found joy in her hobbies and interests, including playing bingo, yard saling, surfing the internet, and scrolling through Facebook. Dianne particularly relished spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured by her family for years to come.

Her family finds comfort in the countless memories they shared with her — from her knack for teaching them how to find hidden treasures at a yard sale, to watching her work the kitchen like a short-order cook for “her deer hunters” at deer camp. She had a gift for bringing people together and always made it a point to be a great hostess, as anyone who ever attended a Christmas Eve gathering at her home can attest.

Dianne’s legacy lives on in the cherished recipes she passed down, including her fried catfish, quick pie crust, and of course her infamous Bourbon Slush. A caring, generous, and loving woman, her presence will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered in every family story told, every Elvis song played, and every gathering shared by those who loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, James B. Kuhn of Pocahontas, Illinois; two sons, James S. "Jim" Kuhn of Troy, Illinois, and Jeffrey J. "Jeff" Kuhn of Pocahontas, Illinois; and grandchildren, Jessica Kuhn, James T. "Tyler" (Abby) Kuhn, Dylan Kurz, and Whitney (Kurz) Nonn.

Dianne is preceded in death by her father, Antone Cravens; and her mother, Laverna (nee Hutchinson) Potts.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bond County Humane Society.

There will be no services held at this time.
