Diane Arnotti

Diane Arnotti, 79, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Knollwood Retirement Community in Caseyville, IL.

She was born on March 31, 1946, in Crawfordsville, IN, to Dr. Loral and Mildred (nee Dever) Gwaltney.

Diane will be remembered as a kind and loving woman whose gentle spirit touched many people. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a labor and delivery nurse at Anderson Hospital. As a labor and delivery nurse she shared in the joy of welcoming countless new lives into the world.

Outside of work, Diane found joy in the simple things — wearing her signature cowgirl hat and cowgirl boots, watching her favorite John Wayne movies, listening to George Strait, playing pool, and most of all she cherished time spent with her loved ones. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she poured her heart into every moment with them.

Diane’s kindness, positivity, and unwavering love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and memories that will forever be treasured by her family and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Loral and Mildred Gwaltney.

Diane is survived by her children, Steven Troy (Karla) Arnotti, Paul “P.J.” (Jennifer) Arnotti, Lisa (David II) Mueller; grandchildren, Michael “Zack” Pappas, Sarah Pappas, Samuel "Sam" Pappas, Isabella “Bella” Arnotti, Nicolas “Nic” Arnotti, Hudson Smith, David Mueller III; siblings, Gail Stanley, Michael Gwaltney; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

A private graveside service will be held on August 28,2025.
