Delmer L. Leitschuh

Delmer L. Leitschuh, 80, of Grantfork, IL, died Saturday, May 28, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

Delmer was born April 14, 1936 to William and Clara (Nee Schneck) Leitschuh, in Shoal Creek Township, Bond County. On April 1, 1956, he married Marilyn Knop at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Douglas, IL.

He was a member of Laborers International Union, Granite City, IL. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Delmer was a sportsman and an outdoorsman and spent a lot of time hunting and fishing, golfing, playing euchre and bowling. He loved to socialize.

Delmar was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara Leitschuh; brothers and sisters, Rolene Bailey, Irma Hockerett, Irvin Leitschuh, Clarence Leitschuh.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Leitschuh, Grantfork, IL; sons, Michael (Sandra) Leitschuh, Grantfork, IL, Randy (Dianne) Leitschuh, Grantfork, IL, Corey (Lisa) Leitschuh, Pocahontas, IL; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Loren (Janet) Leitschuh, New Douglas, IL; sister, Ethel (Larry) Korte, Highland, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Grantfork United Church of Christ or Grantfork Firemans Park.

Visitation: Monday, May 30, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 8:00 to 10:00 am at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:00 am at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
