David K. “Dave” Stein

David K. Stein, 64, of Highland, IL, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home.

Dave was born April 19, 1958 to Leroy and Mary (nee White) Stein at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Moose International.

Dave was a huge fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and a St. Louis Blues Hockey fan. He loved playing guitar, restoring cars, and doing carpentry work. He was an avid vegetable gardener, and you could often find him canning tomatoes when his garden flourished. Dave also enjoyed spending time with his friends uptown in Highland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Mary Stein.

Dave is survived by his sons, Mike Stein, Highland, IL and Andy Sauls, Highland, IL; granddaughter, Dakota Sauls; brothers, Terry (Theresa) Stein, Shiloh, IL, Randy (Sara) Stein, Highland, IL; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation: Friday, July 29, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Interment: at a later date
