Daniel J. Zitta, 76, of Highland, IL, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.
Daniel was born August 21, 1935, to Slava and Pauline (nee Nemec) Zitta, in E. St. Louis, IL. On May 4, 1957, he married Halayna Lsodid, in St. Louis, MO.
He operated Zitta Vending Co. for 48 years in E. St. Louis, IL, and he owned and operated Tip-Top Vending Co. in Highland, IL for 11 years. He was a former member of Moose Lodge. His hobbys were trout fishing and hunting. Daniel also enjoyed family BBQ’s and family get-togethers.
He is survived by his wife, Halayna Zitta, Highland, IL; 2 children, Diana Jean Zitta-DeBourge, Highland, IL, Daniel A. (Elaine V.) Zitta, Greenville, IL; 4 grandchildren, Timothy DeBourge, Breanne M. Zitta, Emily C. Zitta, Hillary A. Zitta; niece, Lisa Zitta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Slava and Pauline Zitta; 1 brother, Albert Zitta; 1 sister-in-law, Joyce Zitta.
Services are private.
