Dan D. Polacek

Dan D. Polacek, Sr., 93, of Swansea, IL, passed away, Monday, June 11, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

He was born January 1, 1931, in Washington Park, IL, to Stephen J. and Margaret (nee Anderson) Polacek, Sr. On March 26, 1950, he married the love of his life, Ruth McGee, in Walnut Ridge, AR.

Dan was a United States Navy Veteran then worked as a Foundry Foreman at East St. Louis Casting Company until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Ruth Polacek; parents, Stephen and Margaret Polacek, Sr.; son, Daniel D. (Rose Ann) Polacek, Jr.; granddaughters, Natlie Polacek, Emma Keller; brothers, William (Ethel) Polacek.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Sue Polacek; brother, Stephen (Sylvia) Polacek, Jr., Thomas Polacek; 4 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Visitation: Monday, June 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

Service: Monday, June 17, 2024, 11:00 AM, Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.
