Cynthia "Cindy" Wright

Cynthia “Cindy” Eileen Wright, 65, of Johnsonville, Illinois, passed away August 26, 2026, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Cindy was born on November 15, 1960, to William “Bill” O. and Carolyn Sue (Pike) Johnson in Fairfield, IL. She married Gene Wright in Henderson, Kentucky; they shared thirty-four years of marriage before her passing.

Cindy had been a CNA in the local nursing homes and a care giver for local families in their home. She was also a homemaker; and enjoyed raising her children. She was always busy doing something, in her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and gardening.

Cindy is survived by her beloved husband Gene Wright, eight children, Trinda, Jessica, Serenity, Kearaney, Dorrell, Chad, Trinity, and Caleb; two sisters Debbie (Bill) Gill, Dorothy (Philip) Etheridge, brothers Bill Johnson and Dan (Teresa) Johnson; three grandchildren, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Edward James Johnson.

Visitation: Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, IL.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 12:00pm following visitation at the funeral home.

Burial: Will follow in Shrewsbury Cemetery near Mill Shoals, IL.

Memorial donations in memory of Cindy may be made to Hosselton-Meridith Funeral to help with funeral expenses. Donations may be dropped off at the funeral home or mailed to P.O. Box 418 Cisne, IL.
