Clara I. Hohrein

Clara I. Hohrein, 98, nee Mersinger of Highland, IL formerly Lebanon, IL died March 29, 2007 at Highland Home, Highland, IL.  She was born June 4, 1908 in St. Jacob Twp, IL to Frank and Rose, nee Arth, Mersinger, both deceased.  She married Nicholas H. Hohrein in April, 1931 at St. John the Baptist Church, Blackjack, IL, and he preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1976.

Also preceded in death by three brothers - Phillip Mersinger (during WWI); Leo Mersinger and Ed Mersinger; two Sisters - Victoria Kyle and Regina Fohne.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters - Norbert (Marcella) Hohrein - Lebanon, IL; Rosemary (Don) Seifried - Highland, IL;  Arlene (Charles) Miers - Gulfport, MS; and Cletus Hohrein - Lebanon, IL; 10 Grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 10 great, great grandchildren.

Clara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a former member and past president of Lebanon Senior Citizens.  She was a homemaker and loved sewing and quilting.

Visitation:  Sunday, April 1, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 2, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL at 10:00 AM with Msgr. James Margason officiating.

Burial - St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebanon, IL

Memorials may be offered to St. Joseph Church or Highland Home.
