Cheryl Pense-Giffhorn

Cheryl Pense-Giffhorn, 62, of Collinsville, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 21,2023. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her death.

She was born May 22, 1960, to Dale and Norma (nee Basden) Rains, in East St. Louis, MO. On May 7, 1999, she married Jerry Giffhorn.

Cheryl was from Collinsville, IL, but was currently living in Gulf Shores, AL with her husband of 24 years Jerry.  Her kids and grandchildren were her life.   She enjoyed traveling, boating, and playing her machines at the casino.  The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you, shall never pass away.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Rains; father-in-law, Roy Pense.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Jerry Giffhorn; father, Dale Rains; children, Jeremy Pense, Trisha (Tom) Brawand, Kristi (Jason) Sutter, Derek Knight, Katie Sims; grandchildren, Gavin Simpson, Gabriela (Christian) Hairr, Emily Sutter, Dylan Brawand, Ella Brawand, Mia Brawand; siblings, Debra (Rex) Drown, Garry (Stella) Rains, Keith (Julie) Rains; numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Celebration of Life: Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at the VFW Hall in Caseyville, IL.
