Catherine E. "Cat" Schneider

Catherine Eva “Cat” Schneider, 58, of Pocahontas, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on October 9, 1967, to Paul and Carola (nee Strauss) Gogley. On October 10, 2020, she married Tim Schneider, in Pocahontas, IL.

Catherine was a strong, independent woman. She served in the Air Force for 5 years leading up and including the Gulf War. Catherine was part-owner with her husband of Smoky Hills Labradors and raised over 100 puppies. She loved flowers, researched and studied everything about them. She also enjoyed camping with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carola Craun; sone, Dalton Schneider; grandson, Calvin Perez, in infancy.

Catherine is survived by her husband, Tim Schneider, Pocahontas, IL; children, Marissa Perez, St. Louis, MO, Kory (Jamie Mitchell) Perez, Caseyville, IL, Cameron (Dayna) Schneider, CT, Baltic, Aron (Madison) Schneider, Grantfork, IL, Allison (Ryan) Roy, Highland, IL; siblings, Erika Hill, Renee Strauss, Ryan Craun; grandchildren, Olivia, Kory Jr., Jeson, Jack Perez, Hayden Plocher, William Schneider, Beckham Plocher, Charlie Schneider, Cambria Schneider; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation: Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
