Carol L. (Nee Fountain) Bloemker

Carol L. (nee Fountain) Bloemker, 69, of Highland, IL died Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital, E/R, Highland, IL.  She was born in Terre Haute, IN, on February 14, 1940 to Arnold Waldro and Carolyn Imogene (nee Yates) Fountain, and they are both deceased.  She married Allan R. "AL" Bloemker on April 21, 1962 at the Presbyterian Church in Greenville, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Al Bloemker, Highland, IL; son Rob (Shannon) Bloemker of Piedmont, CA; daughter, Kerri (Chris) Cook, St. Charles, IL; six grandchildren, Zach, Mitchell, Bodhi and River Bloemker; Ryan and Madison Cook; a sister Linda (Jerry) Foss, Greenville, IL and a nephew, Scott Foss.

Carol was a school teacher for 35 years, two years in Newport News, VA and 33 years at Collinsville High School, Collinsville, IL.  She loved her sports and very good at all of them, softball, bowling, golf and mean at marbles.  She played a lot of golf at Highland Country Club and Fiddlestick Country Club in Fort Myers, FL.  Carol also played a lot of bridge.  She was a member of Evangelical UCC, Highland, IL and the N.E.A.

VISITATION:  Friday, October 9, 2009 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, 1223 Broadway, Highland, IL.
