Carol E. “Ducky” Ruehrup

Carol E. “Ducky” (nee Dubach) Ruehrup, 79, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Alhambra, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Four Fountains Nursing Home, Belleville, IL.

Carol was born on September 15, 1936, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL, to Milton and Nora (nee Ammann) Dubach of Highland, IL. On August 30, 1969, she married LeRoy F. Ruehrup at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL.

They lived on a dairy farm north of Alhambra. They became members of Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra in 1979.  In October 1999, they moved to Belleville, IL

She is survived by a son, Robert Ruehrup of Decatur, IL; two daughters, Lois (John) Simpson of Mehlville, MO, and Brenda Ruehrup of Belleville, IL; a grandchild, Emily Simpson; three sisters, Jean Vosholler of Highland, IL, Bernice (Jim) Gilomen of Trenton, IL, and Mary Ann (Richard) Albrecht of Staunton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Ruehrup; parents, Milton and Nora Dubach; a sister, Lois Dubach (at birth); a brother-in-law, Fred Vosholler.

Memorials may be made to Salem United Church of Christ, Spangle Cemetery, or Donor's Choice.

Memorial Service: Saturday, February 27, 2016, 10:00 am, at Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra, IL.
