Bernice F. Catchings

Bernice F. Catchings, 84, nee Brooks, of Lebanon, IL died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, IL.   She was born April 29, 1922 in Lebanon, IL to William and Mable, nee Crumer, Brooks and they are both deceased.  She married John R. Catchings on September 1, 1955 in Belleville, IL and he preceded her in death June 12, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by her three brothers - Laverne H., James A. and Ray J. Brooks.

Bernice was a homemaker and had worked as a private housekeeper for Dr. Harris, Lebanon, IL and at Scott AFB.  She was a member of Lebanon Temple Church of God in Christ, Lebanon, IL.

She is survived by four daughters - Sharon (Christopher) Carson, Lebanon, IL; Crystal Catchings, Lebanon, IL;  Melinda Catchings, Upper Marlboro, Maryland;  Maureen (Damian Rodriguez) Catchings - Lebanon, IL; two grandchildren - Lakeetra Hines-Catchings - Belleville, IL; Brandon Catchings - Lebanon, IL, one great grandson - Antwan Catchings - Fairmount City, IL; two sisters - Dr. Ethel M. (Rev. Nelson) Johnson - Lebanon, IL; Ora Lee Hughes - Lebanon, IL; one brother - Carl W. (Charlotte) Brooks - Lebanon, IL and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  Friday, March 30, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 pm @ the Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL and Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the Church from 9:00 - 10:00 AM.

Funeral:  Saturday, March 31, 2007 @ 10:00 AM at the Lebanon Temple Church of God in Christ, McAllister St., Lebanon, IL with the Rev. Nelson A. Johnson officiating.

Burial:  College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL
