Berneita L. Sampson

Berneita L. Sampson, 76, of Flora, IL passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at her residence.

Berneita was born November 19, 1945, to Arthur and Nadelle (Trotter) Hockman at Olney, IL.  She married Charles “Bus” Sampson on December 14, 1963, in Mt. Vernon, IL.  He preceded her in death on July 9, 1990.

Berneita retired in 2010 from the Environmental Services Department at Clay County Hospital.  She was also a Florist at Lucille’s Flower Shop in Flora,

Berneita is survived by her partner Perry Harrington of Flora, IL; a daughter Sheila (Mike) Brown of Cisne, IL, two sons Roger (Kristine) Sampson of Cisne, IL, and Roy (Melanie) Sampson of Salem, IL; also surviving are nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Berneita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, a sister Lavaida and her husband Donald.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 4-6pm at Hosselton Meridith Funeral Home, Cisne, IL.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2022, at 11am at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery near Mt. Erie.

Memorials may be given to Fur a Good Paws in Flora, IL and will be accepted at the funeral home.
