BarbaraAnn C. “Barb” Timmermann (Nee Au), 77, of Highland, IL, died Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, IL surrounded by her family.

She was born September 30, 1932 to William and Lena (Nee Van Zetta) Au, in Cornwall, NY.  She married Arthur Timmermann on August 7, 1954 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, in Highland Falls, NY.

Barb was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.  She worked as a secretary, eventually Executive Secretary, at Highland Machine and Screw Products for 26 years.  She belonged to a weekly quilting club and card club.  She volunteered at Highland Health Care Center, Food Pantry, and Chamber of Commerce.  She made a mean salsa.  She enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to her humming birds.  She enjoyed her grandchildren very much.

She is survived by:  Her husband, Arthur Timmermann, Highland, IL; 3 Children, Bill Timmermann, Waldorf, MD, Suzy (Jesse) Black, Highland, IL, John (fiancé Rachel Gebhardt) Timmermann, Herrin, IL; 7 Grandchildren, David Timmermann, Kathryn (Adam) Cadwalader, Stephanie Black, Alex Black, Joshua (Teresa) Timmermann, Jordan Timmermann, Jillian Timmermann; 2 Great Grandchildren, Katharine Cadwalader, Logan Timmermann; 2 Sisters-in-law, Frances Ratermann, Florence (Francis) Huelsmann; 1 Brother-in-law, Darwin Oswald; Many Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by:  Her parents, William and Lena Au; 1 Sister, Patrice Oswald; 1 Brother, John Grant; 1 Sister-in-law/Brother-in-law, Joe (Alvira) Poettker; 1 Brother-in-law, Virgil Ratermann.

Visitation:  Monday, September 6, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial:  10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. Paul Church, Highland, IL.

Clergy:  Rev. Charles A. Edwards, Pastor

Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery, Highland, IL.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Education Foundation.
