Barbara Mix

BARBARA JOAN MIX, 70, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at I. U. Health Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN.

Barbara was born August 7, 1948 in Rinard, Illinois to Thomas Jackson and Barbara Twanette (Brown) Phillips. She married Larry C. Mix in 1967 in Cisne, Illinois and he survives. They were happily married for 51 years.

Barbara grew up in Rinard, Illinois and graduated from Flora High School in Flora, Illinois in 1966. She operated a daycare for many years, caring for many children. She enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her spouse Larry, of Avoca, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Robert Walker of Washington, Indiana; and son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Holly Mix of Springville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Lauren, Zachary, and Nicholas Walker and Maewynn, Avonlea, and Eilena Mix and a brother, David (Debbie) Phillips, of Clay City, Illinois.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00am central time, December 27, 2018 at Willow Branch Cemetery at Rinard, Illinois. Everyone attending the service is asked to go directly to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 282 in Flora, Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
