Barbara Jane Mitchell

Barbara Jane (nee Votrain) Mitchell, 73, Lebanon, IL, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Barbara was born April 20, 1944, to Jack and Ivy (nee Maxfield) Votrain in Belleville, IL. On October 20, 1981, she married Ted Mitchell in Belleville, IL.

She was a waitress at Country Kitchen in Lebanon. She served as an Alderwoman in Cottleville, MO, and she was a real estate agent in St. Peters. MO.

Barbara was a former Eastern Star and served as worthy Matron. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved the holidays. A Happy go Lucky lady. She loved to camp and was very excited about her trip to Alaska. Barb also loved her dog—it was very hard on her when her beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Maggie, passed away.

She is survived by her Husband, Ted Mitchell, Lebanon, IL; Daughters, Pam (Bruce) Koester, Lebanon, IL, and Karen (Scott) Christ, Lebanon, IL; Grandchildren, Kelsey (Matthew) Aydt, Kendyll Koester, Kara Jane Koester, Birkley Christ, Mason Christ; Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Jack and Ivy Votrain; Brothers, John Votrain, Ralph Votrain, Robert Votrain.

Visitation: Wednesday, December 6, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Meridith Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.
