August C. Lohmann, Jr.

August C. Lohmann, Jr., 98, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Dammert Care Center, in Belleville, IL.

He was born on July 26, 1927, in East St. Louis, IL, to August C. and Elizabeth (nee Troeckler) Lohmann, Sr.

After graduation from Collinsville High School, August enlisted in the Navy in June of 1945 and served as a Link Trainer Instructor at Cuddihy Field in Corpus Christi, Texas. After discharge from the Navy, August graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in accounting. He worked for MacDonald Douglas (Boeing) Aircraft Company until his retirement in 1992. August loved reading, baseball, horse racing, and golf, playing 18 holes well into his 90’s! He was an active, life-long member of SS. Peter and Paul Church where he sang in the choir and served in a variety of ministries, but he was most active in the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August C. and Elizabeth Lohmann; son Christopher Lohmann, and brothers: Vincent Lohmann and Eugene Lohmann.

August is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth Lohmann, daughter, Susan (James) Kuca, grandchildren, August J. Kuca, Alexander S. Kuca, Charlie C. Lohmann; daughter-in-law, Jenifer Lohmann.

Memorials may be made to SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and in the form of Masses.

Funeral Mass: Monday, June 22, 2026, 12:00 PM, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL.
