Arnold J. Beutler

Arnold J. Beutler, 80, of New Baden, IL, died Thursday, February 23, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital, Breese, IL.

Arnold was born March 21, 1931, to Arnold and Lucille (nee Feltman) Beutler, in Summerfield, IL.  On May 24, 1952, he married Christine Beck at E & R Church, Lebanon, IL.

He graduated Lebanon Community High School in 1949 where he was active in track and field and basketball.  He was drafted into the Army and served in Alaska during the Korean War.

Arnold was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, New Baden, IL.  He was a member of St. Clair County Farm Bureau, and American Polled Hereford Association.  He followed high school sports until the time of his death.  His enjoyments in life included his family, especially following his granddaughters in school activities, farming and cattle.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine Beutler, New Baden, IL; his daughter, Jan (Craig) Woker, Greenville, IL; 2 granddaughters, Kelcie and Kayley Woker; several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Lucille Beutler.
