Archie L. Butcher, 80, owner/operator of Butcher’s Excavating, of Orchardville, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2026. He passed away at home surrounded by his family.
Archie was born to Glen and Stella Mae (Lawrence) Butcher on April 11, 1945. He married Linda Holleman on July 3, 1965, and they celebrated sixty years of marriage last year.
Over the years Archie had several hobbies. He enjoyed riding motorcycles; restoring antique tractors; camping and sitting around a campfire with family and friends.
Archie is survived by his wife Linda; one son, Rob (Bev) Butcher of Wayne City and one daughter, Kathy (Scott) Branson of Orchardville; a sister, Irene Kendall of Sterling, IL, also surviving two grandsons, Josh (Kalee) Branson, Ryan (Torri) Branson both of Orchardville, a granddaughter, Malllorie (Collin) Esmon of Oklahoma; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Archie attended Orchardville Church and was one of the founders. He spent hours doing groundwork for many of the extensions of Orchardville Church over the course of many years.
“There will be a Celebration of Life on January 24, at 10:00am at the Orchardville Church”.
Memorials in memory of Archie may be given to Orchardville Building Fund and will be accepted at the church.
