Angela M. “Angie” Heim

Angela M. “Angie” Heim (nee Whitener), 87, of Highland, IL, died January 1, 2011, at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL.

She was born July 19, 1923, to Oscar and Pearl (nee Owens) Whitener, in Fredericktown, MO.  On August 23, 1947, she married Orville Heim, at St. Paul’s Church, Highland, IL.

Angie attended Webster University, St. Louis, MO.  She moved to Highland, IL in 1942.  There she managed The Western Union office for several years, and met and married her husband.  She was a member of St. Paul Church, Highland, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a Past President of the Altar Society.

She is survived by: 4 Children, Donna (Patrick) Weiher, Los Altos, CA, Jeanine (John “Bud”) Dickerson, Highland, Kevin (Susan) Heim, Highland, Christine (Jim) Vaught, Tamarac, FL;  11 Grandchildren, Amy Weiher, Joshua (Glenda) Weiher, Nathan (Aimee) Weiher, Christy (Ben) Unger, Kerri (Troii) Hall, Kyle Dickerson, Lindsay Heim, Xavier Heim, Angela Riggs, Jerry Riggs, Jr., Mika Riggs; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Vivian Weiher, Felix Weiher, Caden Hall, Blake Hall, Lili Unger, Elsah Unger.

She was preceded in death by: Her Parents, Oscar and Pearl Whitener, Her Husband, Orville Heim, 1 Sister, Sister Claire Marie Wick, 1 Nephew, Jon Gaylord Wick.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Church, or Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, January 5, 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Church, Highland, IL
