Alvin Carrol Rodgers, 85, of Cisne, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Carrol was born on September 19, 1940 to Archie and Iva L. (Richards) Rodgers in Cisne, IL.
Carrol was a self-employed truck driver. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Flora, VFW and American Legion in Effingham, IL. He loved his beagles and taking them hunting. He was also an avid horse lover and enjoyed riding and driving his horses.
He is survived by Susan Fisher; two brothers Delbert (Becky) Rodgers and Gene ( Sue) Rodgers; sister-in-law Betty Rodgers; his children daughters Cheri Rodgers, Kimberly (Daniel) Thomas, Tanya (Jason) Banks, and an estranged son Carrol Dean Rodgers; his grandchildren Kirsten (Mike) Grimes, Nichole (Ray) Sullens, Logan Thomas, Lucas Cooper, Payton and Mason Banks; great grandchildren Mikenly, Blakely and Riley Grimes, Braydon Schendel and Leeland Thomas and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Mildred Willison and Patsy Davis, three brothers Robert (Nelda) Rodgers, Roy (Reba) Rodgers, and Russel Rodgers.
Graveside Service: Will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.at Bestow Cemetery in Geff, IL. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted by Anthony Wayne Post 176 American Legion in Fairfield, IL and Wayne Memorial Post 4535 in Fairfield, IL.
Memorial donations in memory of Carrol may be given to Bestow Cemetery and will be accepted at the cemetery on the day of the services.
