Alice E. Newton

Alice E. Newton (nee Kneller), 91, of Edwardsville, IL, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville, IL.

Alice was born September 24, 1920, to Arthur and Anna (nee Ullrich) Kneller, in Rockford, IL.

She was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses East Congregation, Rockford, IL.  She lived her whole life in Rockford until the last 2 years. She was full of life, a tireless giver to her loved ones, a friend to many and a cherished member of her community.

She is survived by her son, Russell M. Newton; 1 son-in-law, Doug Hillman; 5 grandsons, Mark (Amy) Newton, Adam (Sarah) Newton, Dustin (Melissa) Newton, Drew Hillman, Stephen Hillman; 4 granddaughters, Melody (Ryan) Wilkins, Abigail (Alex) Guderian, Elizabeth Hillman, Sunee Hillman; 1 great-granddaughter, Alice Newton; 2 great-grandsons, Archer Newton, Dashiell Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Anna Kneller; her husband, Russell A. Newton; 1 daughter, Sue Ann Hillman; 2 brothers, Arthur and Edwin Kneller; 1 sister, Ethel K. Larson.

Per her wishes, her body was cremated.
